PPP Stretch Talk : A Freshwater Case Study

Learn about plastic pollution in our freshwater environments, with the Environment Agency, Queen Mary London & The Rivers Trust
This talk shows the need for research in the growing field of microplastic pollution in our freshwater environment, and how we can use this research to mobilise change and action.
Dr Iwan Jones from QMUL discusses the uncertainty in our understanding of microplastic pollution in freshwater. He explains how we are trying to assess the volume of plastic in our environment and the potential risks these pose to organisms and their habitat, now and in the future.
Clare Whitelegg from the Rivers Trust demonstrates how we can use the data generated from research and apply it using various tools, such as GIS mapping, to help communicate the issue to members of the public and policymakers to drive behaviour change and action.
